ContrarytotheassertionsofWarsawactivists,Bogusław
Miedziński’sinactivitylastedfortwomonths.OnOctober22,1944,
thelong-awaitedrepresentativeofJózefPiłsudski–TadeuszŻuliński
arrivedtoWarsaw,andautomaticallyovertookthefunctionsof
commanderofthelocalPolishMilitaryOrganizationfromRybasiewicz.
InhisconversationwithMiedzińskihestatedthattheinstructionsof
JózefPiłsudskiwerebasedonmakinginfluenceonpublicopinion,
whichwasunderimpressionoftheproclamationofGrandDuke
NikolayNikolayevich,organizationoftheintelligenceoperationand
severalmilitaryactions18.Thesedirectiveswereimplementedinthe
firststepsofŻuliński:spreadingofuPolishMilitaryOrganization
Declaration”,organizationofPolishAircraftaswellasextension
ofthePolishMilitaryOrganizationoutsideWarsaw19.Bogusław
Miedzińskihadtoparticipateinthelasttask.InlateOctober1914,he
receivedtheunominationtothepostofcommanderofPolishMilitary
OrganizationinSiedlcedistrict,theordertogothereimmediately
aswellasseveraladdressesofcontactsinWarsaw”20.Accordingto
him,thetask,receivedfromthecommanderinchief,belongedto
impossiblemissions.TheatmosphereofSiedlce,theinhabitantsof
whicheithersympathisedwiththeRussiansortriedtoquietlyendure
theperiodofwar,madeitimpossibletoexecutetheorder.Under
suchconditions,Miedziński’snominationwasjustafiction,andfor
alongperiodoftime,heremainedtheonlysoldierinhisdistrict.First
attemptstoestablishcontactwithhisschoolmatesfailed.Eventhe
formermembersofthePolishRifleSquads,whoaftertheirstudies
inLvovreturnedtoSiedlce,disregardedhisnomination.Onlydue
tohispersistencehemanagedtogatheraroundhimseveralyoung
people,whoformedastaffofthatdistrict,andinsometime,under
hispersonalobservation,therewaslaunchedtheagitationcampaign,
