aswellasmoremeansofmediation(withalotofentries:contextualisation,themethods
andtheinstrumentsoftheresearchers,ethnographicandsociologicalapproach,testi-
mony,emotionalrelationwiththeinstruments,etc.).Theybearwitnesstothehistoryof
theinstitutionandaremilestonesforthehistoryofresearch.
Insidetheinstitution:howtocreatepartnershipsinordertocreateevents?As
wehavenomuseumandnoexhibitionspace,butyetarealpotentialanddesiretoshow
thisheritage,wehadtoandstillmustcreatepartnerships,inordertocreateevents:find-
ing“oases”.
Anne-MarieDelauneunderlinesthefactthat,“anassetoftemporaryexhibition
equipmentistobemodularandeasytosetupinpremisessincethemesanddisplays
couldbeadjustedtotheinterestsofthetargetedpublicandavailablespace.Themain
assetofthis‘nomadicsolution’istobeabletoadaptitsrelevanceandstimulatecurios-
ityandcreateasenseofstrangeness.Itistruethatthemetamorphosisofusualplaces
andpassagewayswouldenhancetheattractionoftheevent.”However,placestoinvest
inandpartnershipsneedtobecarefullychosen.Universitylibrariesattractalotofvari-
ouspeople:professors,teachers,PhDstudents,undergraduatestudents,andevenpeople
fromoutsidetheuniversityłandappeartobetheplacestobe!

“Oùsontpasséeslescollections?Duréelauvirtuel”.What’shappenedtothe
collections?
Thisistheeventthathassetthepatternforseveralyears.Thisexhibitionwascreated
andpresentedinthelibraryhall.Wewantedtomakethecollectionsvisibletopeoplein
theinstitutionwhooftenignorethefactthattheyexist.Asitisnotpossibletogotothe
collections,thecollectionscometothepeople.Withaimportantkitofcommunication
comprisingyersandfourdifferentpostersdescribingdifferentaspectsofthecollec-
tions,wetriedtoannouncetheexhibitionsoastoattractthepublic.
Thiseventalsoneededustomobiliseallresourcespersonssoastofindandshowthe
treasuresoftheuniversity.Wechoseveobjectsrepresentingthecollections(zoology,
medicine,palaeontology,oldandrarebooksandbotany),andpresentedeachofthem
withadispositivecomprisingoneobjectandafilm(seephoto).Ineachofthefivelms,
anunbiasedobserver,chosenamongsttheuniversitystaff,wasinconversationwiththe
personinchargeofthecollection.
Asalibraryisaplacededicatedtostudy,ithastobequiet,andwhatcouldbeacon-
straintfortheexhibitionhelpsustocreateanintimate,individualencounterwiththeob-
jects.Onepersoncandiscoverawholecollectionthrougharepresentativeobjectwhile
watchingthelmonasmallscreenwithheadphones.
Asmallteamalsohastodealwithfinancialissuesrelatedtoorganisingevents.The
structurebuiltfortheexhibition“What’shappenedtothecollections”-a10m2cube
-hasbeenrecycledinthehallofthefacultyofscienceandenablesustodosmalltem-
