battlefieldrequiresongoinganalyzestofullyunderstandsuchabroad
issue.TheeventsinUkrainecameasakindofsurprisetomanyexpe-
riencedmilitarytheorists.Russianpolicyhasproved,however,thatthe
threatspreviouslytreatedasstrictlytheoreticalhavebecomeafact.
Andthisisagainsttheprovisionsofinternationallawandpublicopinion.
Ofcourse,thepropagandawarwagedbythemassmediamakesit
difficulttounderstandboththecausesandthecourseoftheconflict.
Theirmethodologyclearlygoesbeyondtypicalmilitaryoperations.
Technologicalprogressandglobalization,apartfromamenities,also
entailthreats.Informationsystemsarevulnerablenotonlytofailures
butalsotoattacksofascaleandthedegreeofdangerisincreasing
everyyear.
