RULESOFSAFETYANDWORKHYGIENE
INTHECHEMICALLABORATORY
1.Duringworkinthelaboratorythestudentshouldobservethesafetyrules.
2.Studentcanworkinthelaboratoryonlyinthepresenceofthedemonstrator.
3.Inthelaboratorythestudentshoulduse:
•aprotectiveapron(whitewithbuttonsandmadeofnaturalfabric);
•protectiveglasses;
•protectivegloves(workingwithconcentratedsolutions);
•comfortable,flatshoes;
•longhairshouldbetiedatthebackofthehead.
4.Smoking,eatinganddrinkingareforbiddeninthelaboratory.
5.Tasteshouldnotbeusedtodeterminesubstances.
6.Studentsmustnottakeawayanychemicalsubstancesfromthelaboratory.
7.Tasksshouldbeperformedaccordingtotheinstructionsandwithgreat
caution,particularly:
•thestudentshouldconcentrateduringlaboratorywork;
•thestudentmustnotbendoverthevesselswithheatedfluids;
•
whileheatingasubstanceinatest-tube,itsoutletshouldbesafelydirected
takingotherstudentsworkingnearbyintoconsideration;
•
experiments,inwhichpoisoning,causticorill-smellinggasesareevolved,
shouldbecarriedoutonlyinthefumecupboardinsuchawaythatthe
paneoffumecupboardistheshelter;
•
causticsubstances(concentratedacids,bases,etc.)aswellasorganic
solventsshouldbetakenupusingapipettewithapump;
•oneshouldnotusedamagedlaboratoryvessels(brokenflasks,evaporat-
ingdishes,beakersetc.)becausethereisadangerofspillingfluidsand
gettingburnt;
•
remainsofreagents,organicsolventsandusedupsolutionsshouldbeput
intosuitablecontainers;suchchemicalwastesarethenutilized.
8.Thelaboratorytableshouldalwaysbecleananddry.Onthetablethere
shouldbeonlythingsnecessaryatagiventime.Thelaboratoryvesselsshould
bewashedimmediatelyaftertheiruse.
