testoftime,orbequietlyputaside.Metalmaybemercifulbutitsjudgements
arefinal.InthemodelasIhavedepictedit,Earthisplacedinthecentre.But
uniquelyitpervadesalltheotherelements—thisishowtheearliestChinese
representationsofthemodelweredrawn2,000yearsago.Iargueinthebook
forEarthinitspervasivedimensiontobereadastheintelligenceoffeeling,the
lanternofthesoul,thetruthoffeeling,authenticity.

Myownexperiencesuggeststhattotuneintothecycleofcreativeforcesatlarge
innatureallaroundusistogainimmeasurablyinconfidenceinourowninnate
creativeprocess.
