aremassivelyattackedbybothstateandcapital,andare
abouttovanish.
Thepost-Sovietstateisatitsend,thereisafeeling
ofchangeintheair,buttheirdirectionremainsunknown.
Post-Post-Soviet?Art,Politics&SocietyinRussiaatthe
TurnoftheDecade
isanattempttodescribeahistorical
momentthatisnotyetfullyunderstood.Byplacing
dialogueswithartistsalongsidecriticaltextsbycurators,
scholars,historiansandactivists,thisvolumeseeks
totestifytothestateofthespiritofchange.Thetexts
presentedinthisvolumeareofverydifferentnatures,
theypresentvarious(sometimescontradictory)
standpoints,andtheywerewrittenindifferentmoments
between2007and2013(somearereprinted).Some
ofthemareveryrecent,inwhichcasehistorywillshortly
provideitsnecessaryrevisions,whileothershave
predicted(orweretrying)whatiscoming.Initsvaried
form,thiscollectionaimstoshowthedynamics
ofsomethingdifficulttograsp,anuncertainmoment
ofinstabilitywhich,asinmanycasesalreadyknown
tous,mightburstintorevolution,ormighteasilyreturn
tothestateofenforcedstagnation.Ineithercase,willart
