InthisuniqueonPolishscaleventureparticipatedstudentsfrommorethan
20countries,4continents,12foreignprofessorsfrom7Europeancountries(Bel-
gium,Germany,GreatBritain,France,Italy,theNetherlandsandRomania)aswell
asAsia(Taiwan,Turkey).Aspecialrolewasplayedbytherepresentativesofthe
5leadingcompanieswhereinnovationandnewmediaplayacrucialrole.
ThekeyobjectiveoftheeventwastobuilduptheimageoftheUniversity
ofEconomicsinKatowiceasamoderninstitutionopenforinternationalization,
dialogueandcooperationwithexternalpartners(business,media,SilesianUni-
versitiesNetwork)andkeepingpacewithnewtrends(suchasInternet,mobile,
newtechnologies).
Theothertargetsincluded:
strengtheningtheinternationalizationcooperationwithpartnerinterna-
tionaluniversitiesinthefieldofdidactics,research,studentsmobilityand
day-to-daycooperation,
