Theglobaleconomiccrisisthatsymbolicallybeganwiththebankruptcyof

theLehmanBrothersbankinSeptember2008,ledtoaseriesofneweconomic,

social,andpoliticalphenomena.Thecrisisencouragedmanyresearchers,rep-

resentingvariousfieldsofscience,tobeginanalysingitsconsequences.Work

devotedtothisissuewasalsopursuedbypoliticalscientists.Oneofthemost

intriguinganddynamicfieldsofresearchconcernscontemporarypoliticalsys-

tems.1Theprocessesthatoccurinthisfieldandwhichareaconsequenceofthe

influenceexertedbythesurroundingenvironmentinwhichtheyfunction,could

notgounnoticed.Thereasonforthisisinthenatureofsystemicanalysisitself.

AsnotedbyAdamJamróz,whoreferencedtheviewpointsofMichaelCrozier

andErhardFrediberginhiswork,“theessenceofsystemicreasoningistreat-

ingagivenphenomenonasastructuredwhole,theelementsofwhichremain

co-dependentandcoordinatedintheirworkings.”2Acharacteristicfeatureof

systemicreasoningisusingapatternof“systemiccausality,”which“assumes

theco-dependencyofconsequencesandcauseswithintheframeworkofagiven

system,thefeaturesofwhich[…]permitustoexplainandforeseetheresults
