Whenmakingtheinspectionoftheideaofclusteringtherewasincludedthegene-

sisofthisconcept,thereviewoflegalforms,beneﬁts,advantagesandlimitations

offunctioningofclusterstructures.Therehasalsobeenmadethecharacteriza-

tionofeconomicandinstitutionalfactorsdeterminingthedevelopmentofcluster

initiatives.Thedeepeningofthediscussioncarriedoutisthecharacterizationof

thepolicyofsupport,aswellasoftheopportunitiestodevelopclusterinitiatives

intheagri-foodsector.

Thethirdpartcoversthefourthandﬁfthchaptersinwhichthesubjectofthe

discussionarethedeterminantsofthedevelopmentofclusterinitiativesinPod-

karpacieinthelightoftheopinionofagriculturalproducersandrepresentatives

offoodprocessingentities.Inthispartofthestudytherearepresentedthemicro-

economicconditioningsofthedevelopmentofintegrationlinks,andespeciallythe

linksbetweenthestateofadvancementoftheseconnectionsandtheselectedvar-

iablesthatcharacterizetheprocessingentitiesandagriculturalproducers.There

wasalsomadetheassessmentofthestate,opportunitiesandlimitationstothe

developmentofclusterstructures,takingintoconsiderationthespeciﬁcnatureof

agri-foodindustryintheregion.Intheﬁnalpartofthestudyrecommendations

weremade,aswellasattemptstooutlinetheprospectsanddirectionsofdevelop-

mentofagri-foodclustersinPodkarpacie.

Theundertakenresearchonintegrationlinksbetweenagricultureandfood

industryareamongchallengingissuesandarenotoftenundertakenintheeco-

nomicandagriculturalliterature.Duetothecomplexityandmultifacetedquality

oftheaboveproblems,theundertakenissuesmaybethesubjectoffurther,sep-

aratestudies.

Thetimerangeoftheconsiderationspresentedinthisworkmainlycoversthe

years2005-2013,i.e.theperiodofPoland’sfullmembershipinthestructuresofthe

EuropeanUnion.However,inmanycases,thebasiswerethedatacollectedunder

theCommonAgriculturalCensusesconductedin2002and2010whichpresent

thedetailedissuesconcerningagricultureinthestudiedregion.Theassessment

ofspatialdifferentiationofthestageofadvancementofintegrationlinksconcerns

theyears2005and2013,andthedistrictwasassumedasthebasicterritorialunit.

Inthiscase,fortheyear2005therewereanalyzedtheresultsofthestudiescon-

ductedearlieramong500agriculturalproducers,whilefortheyear2013there

wereusedtheresultsofthestudiescarriedoutonthesameresearchsamplewithin

therealizationoftheabove-mentionedresearchproject.

Sincetheresearchonintegrationlinksbetweenagricultureandfoodindus-

tryaremainlyofempiricalcharacter,thereallyimportantissueistheavailability

oftherelevantﬁgures.Thebasisfortheeconomicandstatisticalanalyseswere

sourcematerialsfromthepublicationsof:CentralStatisticalOfﬁce,Statistical

OfﬁceinRzeszów,PodkarpackieAgriculturalAdvisoryCentreinBoguchwała,

ChambersofAgriculture.Inthecourseofconductingtheresearchworksthere

werealsousedthedatacompiledbytheInstituteofAgriculturalEconomicsand
