thefunctioningofpoliticalparties,discusseschangesintheelectorallawandthe
resultsofparliamentaryelectionswithregardtothestabilityofthesystem.
Inturn,EwelinaKancik-Kołtundealswiththesubjectofcontemporarypar-
liamentarypoliticalpartiesinPoland.Sheanalyzestheelectioncampaignandthe
resultsoftheparliamentaryelectionsin2015withparticularemphasisonprograms
ofpoliticalparties,andintroducesreaderstoapolicyoftherulingpartyandthe
politicalsituationinPoland.
Tesecondsection,ontheCzechRepublic,providestwochaptersbyJosef
Smolik.Inthefirstofthese,theresearcheranalyzestheCzechpoliticalsysteminthe
years1989-2017.Teauthorpresentsthestagesofpoliticalsystemdevelopment,
electionresultsandrelationsbetweenpoliticalparties,thus,tryingtodeterminethe
typeoftheCzechpoliticalsystem.Inthesecondchapter,JosefSmolikdiscussesthe
problemsofCzechpoliticalpartiesfromtransformationalchangestothepresent,
withtheparticularfocusonparliamentaryelections.

writtenbyMartinKovaničandthesecond-byMáriaPetrikováandTomáżDvorsky.
TetopicthatMartinKovaničisfocusedonistheSlovakpartysystem,includingits
characteristicssuchasfragmentationandvolatility.Inhiscontribution,hepresents
thedevelopmentofthepartysceneintheyears1998-2017.
MáriaPetrikováandTomáżDvorskýpresentresearchdevotedtotheproblem
oftheSlovakpoliticalsceneaferthelastparliamentaryelectionsin2016.Intheir
chapter,theauthorsdrawattentiontothetransformationofthepoliticalmapand
thephenomenonofsevereextremism.Teresearchersalsofocusoncurrentpolit-
icalevents,suchastheassassinationoftheinvestigativejournalist,whouncovered
thecaseofpoliticalcorruptioninSlovakia,which,inturn,causedawaveofpublic
protests,andthusledtothereconstructionofthegovernment.
Telastpartofthebook(“Hungary”)containstwochapterswrittenbyCsaba
FazekasandSándorFekete.Inthefirstarticle,theresearchersdealwiththesubject
oftheHungarianpoliticalsystemafer1989,withparticularemphasisonchanges
intheparty,takingintoaccounttheelectionresults.Intheirsecondchapter,the
authorsaddresstheissuesofthepoliticalpartiesthatarecurrentlypartofthepar-
liament,withspecialattentiontotheirhistoryandideology.
