Theconceptofeconomicsystemismostoftenpresentedandanalyzedin
relationtothestate.Itseems,however,thatduetoamongothersthelevelof
integrationandanumberofexceptionalfeatures,itisworthtryingtoanalyze
theconceptofeconomicsystemwithregardtosuchinternationalorganiza-
tionastheEuropeanUnion.Hence,theaimofthispaperisadescriptionand
abriefanalysisoftheEuropeanUnionasaneconomicsystem.Thespecific
axisofconsiderationswillbesimultaneousoccurrenceinthesystemofthe
featurescharacteristicfortheparticularEUmemberstates,andtheuniver-
salisticonesresultingfromtheintegrationprocess.
Inthefirstpartofthearticlethereareindicatedthespecificfeaturesof
theEUasaneconomicsystem.Thisisusefulandnecessaryinorderto
understandtheuniquenessoftheEUasaneconomicsystem.Thesecond
partofthearticleconcernsthetheoreticalaspectsoftheEUasaneconomic
system.Subsequently,theselectedaspectsoftheEUpracticalfunctioningas

madeupby28states.PurposesoftheEUaregeneralintheircharacter,that
ispolitical,security,economic,social.Therefore,theEUdoesnotconstitute
anindependenteconomicsysteminsuchawayasinthecaseofastate.EU
setsoutthegeneralpolicyframeworkindifferentsectorsofeconomiesof
thememberstates.Solutionsandregulationsaffectingtheshapeoftheeco-
nomicsystemsoftheEUadoptedbyEUmemberstatesmustbecompatible
