Abstract:Thoughtheconceptofeconomicsystemisusuallydescribedandanalysedinrela-
tiontothestate,itseemsthatbecauseofthelevelofintegrationandanumberofexceptional
features,itisworthwhiletryingtoanalyseitwithregardtotheEuropeanUnion.Therefore,
thepapercontainsadescriptionandabriefanalysisoftheEuropeanUnionasaneconomic
system.Themainaxisofconsiderationsisthesimultaneousoccurrenceinthesystemofthe
particularfeaturespeculiartotheindividualEUmemberstates,andtheuniversalisticones,
resultingfromtheintegrationprocess.
ThefirstpartofthearticleindicatesspecificfeaturesoftheEUasaneconomicsystem.
ThisisusefulandnecessaryinordertounderstandtheuniquenessoftheEUasaneconomic
system.ThesecondpartofthearticleconcernsthetheoreticalaspectsoftheEUasaneco-
nomicsystem.Subsequently,theselectedaspectshowtheEUworksinpracticeasaneco-
nomicsystemarecontainedinthethirdpart.Tothisaim,statisticaldatarelatingtoaboutten
differentcriteriahavebeenused.Thesummaryandthemainconclusionsareattheendofthe
article.
