astrongconnectiontothepractitionercommunity,thedisciplineofpublic
relationsneedsknowledgetosupportitsacademicandpubliclegitimacy.
Discourseofpublicservice,openness,mutualbenefit,socialresponsibility,
andrelationshipmanagementtakesthedisciplinebeyondthedangerous
territoryofmanipulationandpropaganda.
Thus,thesecondconclusionto
drawfromthisdiscussionisthatthedifferentemphasesandlevelsof
attachmenttoideasrepresentingthepersuasiveandsymmetricalparadigms
withinpublicrelationscanbeattributedtowayinwhichtheacademicand
practitionergroupswithintheprofessiongoabouttheirrespectiveprofessional
projects.
