surveyed,numbered,andremovedtoapreparedflatarea
nearbywheretheywillbestoredforrestorationinthefuture.
Uponexaminationtheseblocks,someofthemevenretain-
ingmortarinthejoints,provedtobelongtoalargeenclosure
wall.Itwas0.60mthick,whereasitsheightcanbecalculated
atalmost6m.Poorlypreservedremainsofwhatappearstobe
itsfoundationswerefoundclosetotheeasternedgeofthearea.
Thewallwasbuiltofisodomiccoursesofmasonry,each
coursevaryinginheight.Severalarchitecturalelements,col-
umndrumsandmoldingswerefoundreusedinthisstructure.
Potterymaterialfromimmediatelybelowthefallenblocks
datesthedestructionofthiswalltotheendofthe3rdorbe-
ginningofthe4thcenturyAD.RunningnearlyexactlyN-S,the
