onthewallsoftheunit.
Unit30,locatedimmediatelyto
thenorthofunit29[seeFig.11],was
pavedwithlimestoneslabs.Itwaspaved
throughoutandhadalargerecessinthe
southernpart,communicatingwiththe
spaceunderthestaircase.Teentrance,
adoublegateinthebroadsideoftheunit,
openedtothenorth,ontothecourtyard
facingthelake.Treesquareopeningscut
inthethresholdheldthehingesandthe
boltofthelock.Installationsfortying
downdonkeys,familiarfromthepractices
ofmoderndaylocalBedouin,werecutin
twostoneblocks.
Aholeinthepavementoftheback
partofunit30,immediatelybeneaththe
airventmentionedabove,ledtoacellar.
Itappearstohavebeenarobber)shole.Te
cellarconsistedoftwovaultedunits,which
hadbeenhewninbedrockinthelowerpart
andraisedoflargestoneblocksintheupper
part[Fig.10],interconnectedbyasmall
passageway,0.50minheight,hewninthe
