(ca.200BC–theturnoftheera)generallycoincidewithphasesLaTèneC1-D2
(ca.250BC–earlyfirstcenturyAD).
Around300BC,duringtheearlypre-Roman(orLaTèneB2)period,mostof
theterritoryofpresent-dayPolandwasoccupiedbythepeopleofthePomeranian
culture,whichintheeastextendedtotheUpperPripyatwatershed,thepresent-day
borderregionofUkraineandBelarus.Inthewest,thelandsontheOderRiver
wereoccupiedbythearchaeologicalJastorfculture,moreprecisely,itsLowerOder
andGubingroups.TheJastorfculture,spreadovermuchofpresent-daynorthern
GermanyandsouthernJutland,isidentifiedwithsomeconfidencewithGermanic
tribes.TotheeastofthePomeranianculture,withintheMiddleDnieperand
Pripyatwatersheds,wastheterritoryoftheMilogradculture.Tothenorth-east,
