Femininityisperceivedasmorebiological,asitisstrictlyconnectedwith
givinglife,whilemasculinityisperceivedaschanging,subduingand
masteringthenature.
Femininityandmasculinityfunctioninthesociallifeasdefinedpat-
terns,idealimagesofwhatwomenandmenareandshouldbe,asorders
oftheassignedbehaviours,andfinally,asbeliefsabouttheirsocialroles
andmutualrelations.Theycreatestereotypesoffemininityandmas-
culinityandconsistofbeliefsaboutappearance,soalsoaboutphysical
attractivenessofwomenandmen.Theydeterminehowwomenandmen
shouldlooklike,whattoneofvoicetheyshouldhave,howtheyshould
moveanddress,etc.Theycomprisecomponentsconnectedwithphysical
traits,socialrolesandprofessions.

atesetofbeliefsaboutwhatisfeminineandwhatismasculine.They
areusuallyinaccordancewithoneanother,butalsonegotiabletosome

suggestthattraditionalbeliefsaboutmasculinityandfemininitymore
