Introduction
Securityisnowoneofthefundamentalvaluesofindividualsand
communities.Itshouldbeconsideredindifferentdimensions,in-
cludingecologicaldimension.Untilrecently,thisdimensionwascon-
sideredtobeinsignificantbuttodayitisclearlychanging.Theimpor-
tanceandvalueofthenaturalenvironmentasanareaaffectingthevital
issuesofnationalbeinggrows.
Naturaldisasters,aswellashuman-induceddisasters,cananddo
poseaseriousthreattothesecurityofthestate.Therapidgrowthof
pollution,thedegradationofecosystemsbypollutantsproducedin
eachcountry,andtheinfluxofpollutionfromabroad,negativelyaf-
fectsthequalityofpeople’slives,aggravatesthehealthofthepopu-
lationandevenendangersthebiologicalpopulation’ssurvival.Ifwe
takeintoaccountthedepletionofnon-renewableresources,itturnsout
thattheproblemofdeterioratingenvironmentalconditionsisbecom-
ingasourceofhard-to-acceptinequalitiesbetweenpeople.Shrinking
ofhumanlifecanleadto“ecological”migration,therebycomplicating
theinternalstateofaffairsandtheinternationalsituation,andmulti-
plyingthevulnerabilityofcountriestootherthreats(economic,social,
political).Inextremecases,problemsofaccesstonaturalresources
andcleanenvironmentcanleadtocompetitionandtensions.Pollu-
tionoftheenvironmentcancreateobjectiveandsubjectivethreatsto
nationalsecurity.
Contemporaryunderstoodecologicalsecurityisperceivednot
onlythroughtheprismofhumansecurity,butalsootherbeings.It
isthereforenecessarytotakemeasuresaimedatraisingtheenviron-
mentalawarenessofthespecificknowledgeoftheoperation,threats
andprotectionoftheenvironmentandtheprinciplesandinstruments
ofmanagementofitsresources.Themainobjectiveistoprotectthe
environment,butthesolutiontotheseproblemswillalsocontributeto
economicgrowthbyfosteringinnovationandentrepreneurship.
