trainingofgettingbackintothatmedievalspirittoseewherehestarted
from,andthey’renotwillingtodothat.However,Ithinkthestudents
aremoreandmorelookingformoresyntheticvisionsofthewholeso
itisquietlycomingbackasoneoption,onekindofalternativevision,
whichtheymightliketolookat.
Andalsowesee,thattheThomisticmetaphysicsandphilosophyis
comingbackthroughthedoorofethics.PeoplelikeAlistairMacIntyre
whohasbecomeaconverttoCatholicismfinallyandhasattackedall
themodernanalyticethicsandhasputouthisownbooks,andfinally
oneonthreewaysofdoingethics,KantandAristotle,andwhereheis
optingforSt.Thomasasthebestwaytodoit.HestudiedSt.Thomas,
andhe’sbringingitbackthroughethics.Soalotofpeopleareslowly
comingtothemetaphysicsofhumannatureandofbeingthrough
ethicsbecausetheyseethelack.
