Summary.Accordingtomethodologyofpsychologicaltestsfordriversthereis
nosetofresearchmethodsthatwouldbeobligatoryandequalforalltrafficpsy-
chologists.However,chosentoolsshouldfulfilconditionstestgoodnesscriteria.
TheaimofthisarticleistoassessthevalidityandreliabilityofthePolishadap-
tationoftheTIPIInventoryonthecomputerversioncalledSDPanditsusage
intheareaoftestfordrivers.Thisinventoryconsistsofonly10itemscovering
5factorsoftheHBigFive”andischaracterizedbysatisfactoryreliabilityandvalid-
ityrecommendedinscientificresearch.414peopledrivingvehicles(371menand
43women)whoparticipatedinpreventivepsychologicalexaminationsrelatedto
drivingacaratworkwereexamined.
Itwasshownthatwomenweremoreagreeable,conscientiousandopen-minded
comparedtomen.ThestrengthofrelationshipsbetweenTIPIfactorandmeasures
ofsimilarconstructswascompared,andasatisfactoryvalidityandreliabilityof
individualsubscaleswasproven.Reliabilitycoefficientsoftheseindicatorswere
ofensimilartothosereportedinthescientificliterature,althoughtheyturnedout
tobethemostbeneficialforemotionalstability.
