4.Speciesexcludedfromthepresentstudy
Forthepurposeofthepresentstudyitwasnecessarytocreateanoriginal
andup-to-datecatalogueofephemerophytesoccurringinPoland.Thestatusof
eachspeciesrecognizedbydifferentauthors(ROSTAŃSKI,SOWA1986–1987;
MIREKetal.2002;RUTKOWSKI2004)asanephemerophyte,hasbeencritically
assessedagainstthecriteriawhichhavebeenassumedinthepresentmono-
graph(seeChapter2).Astheresultoftheanalysis134taxahavebeenidenti-
fiedwhich,forvariousreasons,donotcomplywiththecriteriaforbelongingto
thisgroupofplants(AppendixA).Ithasbeenproposedtochangethestatusof
21speciesandincludethemtopermanentlyestablished,84specieshavebeen
recognizedasergasiophygophytessincetheyare,orhavebeen,cultivatedwithin
theterritoryofPoland,andtheremaining29speciesareofanuncertainstatus
orareconsideredtohavebeenmistakenlyrecordedinPoland.AppendixAlists
theexcludedspeciesinalphabeticalorderandthefeatureswhichweredecisive
forexcludingspeciesfromthegroupofephemerophyteshavebeenmarkedwith
a“+”mark.
Thespeciesrecognizedaspermanentlyestablishedincludeboththosewhich
haveseveralrecordswithintheterritoryofPolandandonesrecordedatonesin-
gleplace(Alyssumargenteum,SaxifragaumbrosaorTanacetumpartheni-
folium).
Thelistofspeciespresentedbelowhavebeenrecognizedbydifferentau-
thorsasestablishedwithinthefloraofPoland.Theyarethefollowing:
1.Abutilontheophrastiitcurrentlyspreadsasaweedwithincultivationsin
LowerSilesia(DOMARADZKIetal.2008);
2.AegilopscylindricaaccordingtoŚWIĘSandWRZESIEŃ(2002,2003,2004),
thisspeciescanberecognizedasakenophytebecauseofitsmassiveap-
pearanceandsurvivalforanumberofyearsinseveralhabitatsnear
Lublin;
3.Alyssumargenteumthespecieswasrecordedonthewallofcatholicceme-
teryinWleń(SCHUBE1909),whereithassurviveduptonowandspreadson
seminaturalgrasslandsnearbyDiantho-Armerietumelongatae(KWIATKOWSKI
2006);
