1.Theroleofcultureinthesocio-economicdevelopment
ofacountry
Reasonsforeconomicdevelopmentdonotonlyincludeeconomicorad-
ministrativefactors.Additionally,culturerelatedfactorsaretakenintoaccount
aswell.Cultureisautotelic,butitisalsoatoolofsocio-economicdevelopment
ofcities,regionsorcountries,whichiscloselyconnectedwiththestandard
andqualityofliving.
Itisprerequisiteforthegrowthofculture(includingindustriesthereof)
tofollowtherouteofsustainabledevelopment,andconsequently,toresult
inanincreaseofsocialwelfareandhelpmaintainandoptimallyexploitcultural
infrastructure.Projectsandactivitiesundertakenandrealisedinthesphere
ofcultureshouldalsohelpinhabitantsofrespectivecountriesfindarelation
betweenthe"European”andthe"national”.Theroleofcultureisalsoex-
pressedincreationofasenseofculturalsecurityandnationalidentity,through
formingabondbetweenagivennationalitywithotherEuropeancommunities,
andnotthroughemphasisingculturaldifferences(Mazurek-Łopacińska,1998,
p.34).
Thesocialdimensionofculturedevelopmentisveryimportant;itisex-
pressedinitspowertolessenthedisproportionsinindividualdevelopment
ofpeople,increasehumanandsocialcapital,andcreatinganon-xenophobic
society.Besides,developmentofthesphereofcultureinaregionhelpsthestate
findinvestors,createproductsandcommercialisethem(seeFigure1).
Theroleofthesphereofcultureinsocio-economicdevelopment
ofacountryisalsovisibleinthepositiveinfluencetheculturesectorhasupon
thefunctioningofthejobmarket.
