Inthepaperseveralspecifiedmodelsofballastlongitudinalresistanceto
behaviourofCWRtrackhavebeenanalysed.Theconsideredproblemisconnectedwith
localtracksegmentsinwhichhorizontaldisplacementsofrailcross-sectionsoccur.The
displacementsoccurmainlybecauseofrealnon-uniformtemperaturedistributionsover
thelengthofCWRtrack(e.g.variableinsolationofrail,variabletemperatureofrailsto
sleepersfastening)[11,12,16].Onthegroundsofempiricalcharacteristics,theobtained
formulaeanddependencesallowedananalysisofdisplacementdistributionalongthe
trackandalsoanexaminationofforcesandstressdistribution.Similarphenomenonalso
occurswithintheso-called‘breathing’endsofCWRtrack[5,9].Asignificantinfluence
ofrailwayworks(e.g.railwaytamping)onarangeoflocaltemperaturechanges
interactionalongthetrackhasbeenshown[1,2].
