allthemorejustifiedthatmoreandmoreoftentodayactivitiesare
promotedwhichmaybeconsideredassuchfromtheethicalpointof
view.Notwithoutsignificancearethedoingsofsocalledethicalcom-
mittees,whichhaveboththeiradvocatesandtheiropponents.Itshould
beaddedthatinthecaseoftheprojectofadvisoryethics,itdoesnot
playtheroleofapartytothedispute,itdoesnotrepresentanyone’s
interests,butpointstopossiblesolutions.Treatingallpartiestothe
disputeinthesameway,basedonthreevalues:respect,equalityand
justice.
Incontemporaryreflectiononpubliclifeanditsgoverningmecha-
nisms,animportantroleisplayedbytime.Asatwofoldmeasure:of
changes,andofexistence.Everyexistence(anindividual,acommu-
nity,socialspace)isgivenintimeandlastsintime,thusbecoming
time-linked.Thedynamicsofhumandeeds,choices,desires,needsis
writtenintimeandrecognizedbytime.Itisprobablythemostne-
glectedareaofethicalreflection.Wecantalkofindividualtimeand
communitytime,or,tobemoreprecise,ofvariouswaysofexperienc-
ingit.Howshouldthatexperienceoftimebelinkedtotheuniversal
andunchangingstatusofmoralnorms?Inpost-modernculture,the
existenceofoneandunchangingtruthisquestioned.Atthesametime,
aprogramoftheaesthetizationoflifeispostulated,visibleinlitera-
ture,art,andparticularlyinfilm.Itistherethatcertainidealstakelive
form,anditistherethatdevelopmentsintheprocessofindividualiza-
tionaremostapparent.Philosophersstressthatwearelivinginatime
betweenepochs,inwhichtraditionismostpronetorevaluation,while
itisquitedifficulttopositivelyestablishthatwhichisdefinedbythe
worldofmodernvalues.Inresult,theideaofprivacyandatomization
isprevalent,alongwiththemassscaleofphenomenatypicalofto-
day’spopculture.
Ontheotherhand,however,thereismanacitizeninatangleof
socialrelationshipsthatarebecomingevermoreclose.Manydeci-
sionswetakehavetheirsourceinthemodelsoflivingandactingwe
