nouncedby“Fantastyka”(leadingfantasymagazinein
Poland),wonthe3rdprize.“Fantastyka”readersregard-
editasthebeststoryoftheyear.Since1986Andrzej
Sapkowskihaspublishedtwentyshortstoriesandseven
novels.Hiscriticaltexts,reviewsandfeaturearticles
havealsobeenpublishedinvariousmonthlymagazines.
SapkowskihaswonallofthemostpopularPolish
awardsgiventothefantasywritersandhisnovelsare
stillpresentonthelistsofbestsellers.In1997,hewon
theprestigiousPaszport“Polityki”award,whichisgiven
annuallytoartistswhohavestrongprospectstopro-
motePolishculturearoundtheworld.
