fromallovertheworlddiscussedthedangersofgeneticengineeringż
IattendedthisconferenceattheinvitationofDavidBaltimore,thescientist
fromtheCancerCenteroftheMassachusettsInstituteofTechnology,who
togetherwithRenatoDulbeccoandHowardMartinTeminwasawardedthe
NobelPrizeufortheirdiscoveriesconcerningtheinteractionbetween
tumourvirusesandthegeneticmaterialofthecellż”ThesecondPolish

obtainedduetotheprogressintheDNAsequencingtechniquesż30years
ago,sequencingofthefullhumangenomeseemedtobeamissionimpos-
sible,mainlybecauseofthecostofthisproject,higherthantheyearlybud-
getoftheMaxPlanckInstituteżHowever,inspiteofmanyobjections,
