Becausenetworkingissoimportantinexchangingexperiencesand
bestpractices,itisencouragednotonlyonanationallevelbetweenin-
stitutionsandindividuals,butalsoonaregionallevelaswell.Figure3
indicatesnationalnetworkswhichthenformpartofaregionalnetwork.
Since2013,regionalmeetingshavetakenplacewithmemberstatesofthe
AssociationofSouth-EastAsianNations(ASEAN),theAfricanRegional
IntellectualPropertyOrganization(ARIPO),theOrganisationAfricaine
delaPropriétéIntellectuelle(OAPI)andtheOrganizationofIslamicCo-
operation(OIC),inordertostartdevelopingregionalTISCnetworks.
5.TISCTRAINING
Initialonsitetraininghasfocusedprimarilyontheeffectiveaccessand
useofpatentandnon-patentservicesandtools.Training,therefore,isfo-
cusedonwheretosearch,inparticularusingfree-of-chargepatentdatabas-
